5 top tips for efficiently working from home

At OMS we each work from our own homes and look after our clients either remotely or at their offices. I would like to think we are pretty good at it so here are our 5 top tips for efficiently working from home...

1. Dress like you are going to work.

2. Set a regular work pattern so that your friends and family understand when you are at work and not to disturb you.

3. Don't do housework while you are at work, try to use your breaks for relaxing, get some fresh air or sunshine.

4. Lunch with friends and family outside the home so you have much needed social contact and support local cafe's.

5. Join a group of likeminded people to get outside social interaction.

I would love to hear your tips and ideas of what works for you too, comment below.

Hate your office?

Here are some successful office practices that I find helpful....

  1. Make your office a place you want to be - add plants, decorations and pretty lights ✨ I added another screen and it makes the world of difference!

  2. File paperwork in one place and sort out on a specified day of the week - mine is Friday πŸ˜‰ - then you know where it is at all times.

  3. Tidy your office on Friday ad plan ahead so that Monday is productive and you aren’t looking for stuff 😏.

  4. Diary regular DD payments so that you are always aware of when these go out. πŸ’Έ You can even put these into a cashflow forecast to see a clear picture of how your bank is performing. (Don’t know how - we can help🀩).

  5. Put each project/problem into a clear file and label it clearly, this keeps everything together and is easy to find. πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“
